With 2010 gone, and any tour plans/hopes along with it, Jimmy Page has been recorded in various journalist interviews recently confirming his plans to put out some new music along with some live concerts to follow. In one interview, Page stated that he was surprised by the lack of feedback regarding a previously unreleased acoustic instrumental -  which he had released as part of the DVD extras section of the "It Might Get Loud" documentary a few years ago. Page has also indicated that he expects his new material to featuring a wide range of musicians accompanying him.

The long awaited, highly anticipated "International Show of Peace Concert" which was expected to kick off Jimmy Page's return to the concert performance stage on 10-10-10 at the Bird's Nest stadium complex in Beijing, China, turned out to be a non-event with no concert, no performances nor any explanation given from the the show's organizers or performers.
The Show Of Peace Concert event was initially announced to take part during a scheduled press conference in China during the latter part of 2009. That original press conference was held with a number of musicians who had agreed to perform at the planned show in attendance - including Jimmy Page and lead organizer Rick Garson. It was during that press conference that an announcement was made for the concert scheduled to take place on April 17th 2010 in conjunction with Earth Day.
However, as the April concert date neared, the promoters abruptly issued a new press release announcing that, in order to accommodate any schedule conflicts of the many expected performers, the date of the concert was to be changed from April 17th to October 10th 2010 (10-10-10). The re-scheduled date was promptly updated on the Show Of Peace Official Website (www.showofpeace.com).
After 9-10 months of what can only be described as some sort of media blackout (since January 2010), a "Tweet" message appeared on the Official Show Of Peace Website's linked "Twitter" account in recent days. While the Show of Peace Official  Website continues to list the confirmed show date as 10-10-10 (along with many other promo videos posted to the Show Of Peace website using embedded links to videos which were uploaded to the You-Tube website - still touting the concert to take place on the canceled April 17th 2010 date) there has been absolutely no response to numerous requests for updated information prior to and following the 10-10-10 Official (now canceled) show date from either organizers nor any of the past 'confirmed' performers as to what happened in regards to the aborted 10-10-10 event or what anyone might expect regarding any possible future plans in regards to this event.
As of October 11th 2010, the "Show Of Peace' Twitter account bio line finally updated. It now simply reads: "Show of Peace 2011".
Any future updates to this debacle will be posted as warranted.

Jimmy Page has confirmed that he plans to be performing a whole lotta new solo material on a upcoming 2010 tour. In a recent interview, televised by Sky News, Page revealed that he's been working on some new music since the Led Zeppelin reunion gig held at London's O2 arena in December 2007.

"We're running up to Christmas now and next year I have every intention of playing music live and manifesting it," Page said during the interview. "I've got the music waiting, and that's what i'll be doing. It's been two years since the O2, so it's time to do that."

There is no word yet on a release date for the new material nor are there any confirmed tour dates.

Organizers have announced that the Show of Peace Concert has been delayed until October 10th 2010:

Notice: About the Date Change of the International Show of Peace Concert to October 10, 2010. With the agreement of Ministry of Culture, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and the organizers of the International Show of Peace Concert have discussed and decided to change the date of the concert to October 10, 2010 10/10/10.

The concert, originally planned for April 17, will be held at Beijing's Bird's Nest Stadium. The CPAFFC has considered all aspects. It has now been confirmed that Jimmy Page will perform at the first annual Show Of Peace Concert, a environmental awareness event, which is scheduled to take place on April 17th 2010. The concert, to take place on a special stage to be erected outside of Beijing’s Bird’s Nest is expected to be heard via television, radio and Internet broadcasts by more than two billion people around the world. It’s expected to be part of a year-long campaign to address the twin issues of world peace and environmental care.

Show of Peace Concert Venue

This 85,000 person venue as seen during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games will play as the backdrop for this Global Television Special with the outside design really the icon.

Beijing National Stadium, also known as the National Stadium or colloquially as the Bird's Nest, is a stadium in Beijing, China. The stadium was designed for use throughout the 2008 Summer Olympics and Paralympics. Located in the Olympic Green, the $423 million stadium is the world's largest steel structure. The design, which originated from the study of Chinese ceramics, implemented steel beams in order to hide supports for the retractable roof; giving the stadium the appearance of a "Bird's nest". The retractable roof was later removed from the design after inspiring the stadium's most recognizable aspect. Ground was broken in December 2003 and the stadium officially opened in June 2008.

The concert will mark the 30th anniversary of the cultural exchange agreement between the United States and China. It is billed as "a 'peace is green' awareness campaign designed to not only promote peace with each other but to promote peace with our planet." Music & television producer Rick Garson's Las Vegas-based ZZYX Entertainment company is producing the show. Garson's co-producers include Live 8 and Live Earth principal Greg Sills and artist manager Trudy Green. Other organizations involved in the concert include "the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Joint US-China Collaboration on Clean Energy, the United Nations' Pathways of Peace and the Captain Planet Foundation."

Garson will also be establishing A Show Of Peace Foundation, whose board of directors will comprise of some of the top environmental and peace-building experts. The foundation will be distributing funds raised from the April 17th concert and other activities to organizations and initiatives. Garson stated that "the passion and attitude of the Chinese people and the potential of this country made me realize that this was the right place to stage an event, as we watch the transformation of Red China to 'Green' China right before our eyes."
